Summer Sunrise is an abstract painting part of my Sun & Moon series.  This is an early morning sunrise with the bird chorus and the anticipation for a creative day.

My new paintings evolved by the wonder of how the sunrise can take your breath away transporting you from a personal scale to the much larger scale of the solar system.  I attempt to capture those inspirational moments by interacting with the viewer with paint, colour and geometry.  I hope the painting will communicate a sense of wonder and peace.

The geometry has a calming energy and was found in a tile design in Seville.  The geometry of the picture forces my painting technique to be concentrated in a trance like state.

I love sitting down and allowing the eye to flow over the painting. It has given me many hours of viewing pleasure.
