In 2007 Leigh Glover completed the two-year Diploma in Portrait Painting course at Heatherley's School of Fine Art in London.  With one other student he shared the  Heatherley's Portrait Diploma Prize for that year.  Feedback from the panel of assessors that included external artists as well as internal tutors, noted him as a "painterly painter" with a creative freedom in his work.

A few months after completing his Diploma one of Leigh's paintings was selected for the prestigious Royal Institute of Oil Painters' annual show in the Mall Galleries, The Mall, London.  This painting ("Sonya" - go to Portraits) won further recognition as a finalist in the Windsor & Newton's sponsored "Young Artist" competition.

In 2009 Leigh's pencil portrait of "Scroobius Pip", was accepted for exhibition again in the Mall Galleries in London, but this time by the world-recognised Royal Society of Portrait Painters.

In the Society of All Artists 2005 Young Artist of the Year nationwide competition, Leigh was awarded a runner up prize for an oil on canvas landscape.  This success encouraged him and helped determine his choice of career.

In 2002 he graduated from Oxford Brookes University with BSc Hons degree in Mapping and Cartography.

Leigh who lives and works in London, undertakes commissions for portraits and landscapes in pencil, charcoal or oil.  He prefers to work directly from life, but sometimes uses photographs as an aid.  He will travel to a client's choice of location.
